Master Resale Rights (MRR) are a type of licensing that allows the purchaser not only to resell a product but also to pass on the resale rights to their customers. Here’s how MRR generally works:
- Resell the Product: When you purchase a product with MRR, you have the right to resell the product as your own. You can keep 100% of the profits from these sales.
- Pass on Resale Rights: You can also pass on the same resale rights to your customers. This means that those who purchase the product from you can also resell it and pass on the resale rights to their customers.
- No Modification Rights: Typically, MRR does not allow you to modify the product or claim authorship. You must sell the product as is, without making changes to the content, branding, or anything else.
- Pricing: Some MRR agreements may impose restrictions on pricing to prevent devaluation of the product. For example, you might not be allowed to sell the product for less than a certain price.
- Limits: MRR might come with specific terms, such as limits on the number of times the product can be resold or geographic restrictions.
Products that commonly come with MRR include digital products like eBooks, software, online courses, and graphics.
